Spiced Nuts
I decided to make these for two reasons: 1) it’s fall and appropriate for the time of year and 2) I needed some spiced pecans for some cupcakes I was devising.
What I have listed below is the recipe that I will be using for the upcoming cupcakes: bourbon pie cupcakes (yummy!).
Ingredients:
3 cups pecan halves
1 egg white, lightly beaten
1 Tbsp water
¼ cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 F
- Line a 9 X 13 baking pan with parchment paper
- Combine the egg with the water
- Place pecans in a medium-sized bowl. Add water-egg mixture to pecans, and stir to coat
- Combine the sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg
- Pour the sugar-seasoning mix over the coated pecans, stirring to coat
- Pour the pecans into the prepared pan, spreading as evenly as possible
- Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, stirring twice.
